Even in a place steeped in history – after all, the Olympic Games took place here as early as 1936 – our special know-how was in demand. Since the entire stadium complex is under historical preservation, a sensitive handling of the building fabric and materials was required, and design interventions had to be minimized. In a first construction phase the 50m swimmer and diving pools were renovated with a new stainless steel construction. The necessary technical infrastructure was implemented, in a complex procedure, in sections in order not to damage the structure of the grand stands of the historic stadium.
