In mid-2017, construction of the new student dormitory known as the “WohnStuBe” began in Vechta on the Eichendorffweg. The new building comprises 47 apartments. These forty-seven apartments because of existing zoning laws and regulations may only be rented to students and employees of the university.

The size of the apartments ranges from single apartments of approx. 25 sqm to 4-room apartments of approx. 83 sqm, which are also designed to be used as shared flats.

An elevator guarantees barrier-free access to all apartments. Each apartment is equipped with a built-in kitchen.

The entire building is heated through a geothermal energy source and electrical power is generated with a photovoltaic system.
