When dealing with baths from the1970s and 1980s, not only the technical modernization is important, the bathing and leisure facilities also have to be adjusted to modern-day requirements.
This was achieved with a master plan and in close coordination and cooperation with the building owners. The master plan defines the objectives and recommended action and also includes criteria such as cost-effectiveness and energy concepts in the decision-making process.
In addition to providing more light for the main swimming hall, we extended facilities with a learner’s pool by dividing the 50m outside sports pool. Then we built a new indoor pool over half of this area. We developed the idea of a central square formed from the addition of the learner’s pool, the family area and the new dry playground. The new infants’ area is also located here. Catering facilities were extended by a south-west terrace and we extended the foyer area for the new administration and staff wing. A new colour concept harmonizes all existing structures, new constructions and additions in fresh and pleasant interaction.
